What is Document Imaging? |
| |
Document
imaging is the process of capturing information
from paper, photographs, faxes or handwritten
notes. The captured information is then scanned
and stored digitally on a computer system which
enables you to quickly retrieve documents with
only a few keystrokes. The digital images are
usually stored on CD-ROMs which can hold approximately
10,000-12,000 pages of information. Rather than
carrying multiple boxes of documents, you can
easily transport large amounts of information
stored on CD-ROMs or via the Web. |

|
What is Archiving? |
| |
Archiving
is the process of converting important paper documents
which are normally kept in a storage warehouse
and used mainly for reference. Old tax returns,
closed legal documents and medical records are
good candidates for archiving. The documents will
be scanned and stored on CD-ROMs which will reduce
the need for expensive storage space while providing
high-speed efficient access to those documents.
InfoStore is the only Imaging Company in the Tri-State
area that provides Imaging and Archiving at our
own facilities. |

As an Application Service
Provider, what do we do? |
| |
InfoStore Online
provides all the benefits of document imaging,
without requiring dedicated employees and capital
resources for the capture of documents. The documents
are picked up at your office, prepared, scanned
and indexed at our NJ location. We then deliver
the imaged documents on media of your choice (CD,
Corporate Network, Internet) to your office. |
|
| |
|
What kinds of documents
can we image? |
| |
Any document
that is frequently referred to should be imaged.
Organizations typically want documents such as
accounting records, customer related files, medical
records, proposals, loan documents, signature
cards, engineering drawings, or computer generated
reports. Just about any type of document can be
stored, paper or any other type. |
|
| |
|
How are the indexes entered? |
| |
The method
of indexing is determined through discussions
with each of our clients. Various methods include
individually keying in each indexing field, using
double verifying for greater accuracy, using bar
codes, or using existing computer databases to
electronically populate the indexes using a unique
identifying field. |
|
| |
|
Is confidentiality an issue? |
| |
Our clients
include government entities, medical organizations,
financial institutions and public utility companies,
just to name a few. Each member of the InfoStore Online
team understands the importance of confidentiality
and has entered into a nondisclosure agreement. |

|
How can we use your service
if we already have imaging software? |
| |
The imaging
software used by the Source Imaging team can export
to many of the established imaging software systems.
Even if your system is not one of those identified
systems, we can typically work with you to set
up a method to support your software. |
|
| |
|
Is the retrieval software
available from InfoStore web enabled? |
| |
Yes, clients
can choose to implement web-based or desktop-based
retrieval, or a combination of these. |
|
| |
|
Can previously imaged documents
be included in the InfoStore solution? |
| |
Often previously
imaged documents can be converted to the newly
installed iBIC Viewer, however, this is an area
that requires a review of existing systems to
determine how the conversion can be achieved.
We can support most standards based formats, but
most of our clients use CCIT Group IV MultiPage
Tiffs, PDF, and JPEG. |
